The DOJ and FEC looked at the option of pursing trump with the same charge and decided there wasn’t a case. After that Alvin Bragg’s predecessor declined to pursue the charge because there was no case . As far as statute of limitations clock stopping. That won’t work because trump has a residence in Trump towers and has stayed there at times while he was president . So it’s doubtful that a fair judge would stop the clock on statute of limitations .
