Secondly You are being obtuse if you don’t accept that a 40% attempted suicide rate amongst a group of people suggests some form of mental illness as this is 10 times the normal rate of the general population.

Jillian Summers people who have drug abuse problems and people who cut themselves usually have an underlying mental illness that drives this self abuse such as depression or some sort of anxiety disorder. Similarly, transgender have a delusional disorder ( see Doctor Quentin Van Meter Professor of Paediatric Medicine) that is the root cause of their self harm. I’d also be interested on your position on transracial people ie a white person who believes they are black, or transspecies people eg a person who believes they are a dog or a cat? Should we fix their problems by plastic surgery to make them look more like what they believe they are and change laws to allow them to claim say grant s for African Americans or should we treat their delusional disorder? Note , I do care when children as young as 10 are put on puberty blockers that will forever alter their physical and mental development.. to me it is child abuse and an irresponsible action that is driven by emotion rather than rational decision making . If left alone it has been shown that the majority of children who thought they were transgender grew out of it and either identified as gay or had no intention of identifying as the opposite sex anymore.

If you want to destroy women’s sports let men identifying as women compete against biological women. There is much evidence of this happening already with transgender athletes dominating women’s sports. Don’t let political correctness kill sports for women

  8. Tabitha Totten the olympic committee has already decided on that. Look up Laurel Hubbard a transgender weight lifter who got to represent New Zealand in the Commonwealth Game in women’s weightlifting

Tabitha Totten I have no problems with anyone doing anything as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else..however imagine Bruce Jenner in his prime where he was an Olympic gold medal decathlete as a man.If he competed as a woman he would more than likely have competed in and won numerous individual women’s events . These women who currently hold medals in Bruce Jenner’s era would have missed out on their life long ambition of either competing at the olympics and / or winning Olympic medals.

Any other condition with that high an attempted suicide rate would be considered a mental illness, so if not a mental illness then why such a high suicide rate pre and post surgery?

Jillian Summers this person is just one person but is the President of the American College of paediatricians, however there are many more in his field and related fields who feel this same way.. in terms of puberty blockers such as Lupron there are proven cases of severe bone pain , osteoporosis, compromised fertility, unknown effects on brain development and have lead to severe depression and suicidal ideation. As an adult , a person can chose to transition to a cat for all I care, however children are not capable of making irreversible life changing decisions at 10 years old. Even though there are laws to prohibit at what age certain hormones and drugs can be administered , many well meaning parents have been known to start providing their children with their own estrogen at a much earlier age than recommended . As indicated a vast majority of children who think they are transgender grow out of it when they are older . Now the parents and doctors are willing to irreversibly change these children because they believe in their hearts that their child is definitely in the wrong body even though studies has shown this is not the case.. This dangerous irreversible action by parents and doctors will result in high levels of depression and suicide in the future. I can’t stress how wrong I think it is to take away the natural development of a child based on a judgment call of how a child feels when they are 10 or less.
