  5.  @kencarlson1346  he is a staff officer with the south Carolina national army guard and is deployed in the Horn of Africa . The US is not at war there so let’s not pretend he’s protecting the country .

  6.  @Saberg  you need to know the difference between deployment to a combat zone as opposed deployment in non combat zones ( which is the vast majority ) to places like Germany , Italy , Spain ,UK, Spain , Japan , Australia etc. A very small percentage of US soldiers are deployed to combat zones so when you hear the line “ he’s deployed overseas fighting to protect America “ then you need to dig a little deeper and you will find they have a cushy little posting overseas .

It’s hilarious how you people fall for the “ deployed” somehow meaning they are in a combat zone fighting to protect America when the vast majority of deployments are in cushy locations like Germany, Italy, Australia, Spain etc . He is in the Horn of Africa as a staff officer and not in a combat role
