  1. Leniency for what? The FBI agents interviewing him did not think he lied, and nor did McCabe or Comey think he lied. So he basically was coerced into pleading guilty to a crime no one thought he should have been charged with just so that he wouldn’t be bankrupted for defending himself against a made up charge.
