The hate in the way he said “ black bastard” says a lot

Listen to the hate in the way he said “black bastard” . This hatred doesn’t die overnight and this story may explain the origins of becoming a racist but the sound bite to me says he still harbours hatred towards black men

Did he really have to use the term “ black bastard” to get his message out there? PS that line was clever

His mistake was using the term “ black bastard” .for a man who was ashamed he could have quite easily have said at the time he really hated black men and this would have not have been as controversial

Notice in your story you didn’t use terms like “rag head” or “ Muslim bastard” and I’m guessing you’d never use any derogatory terms like that whenever you recount this story. That’s why I am concerned with with the Liam Neeson story and believe he still harbours a hatred towards black men

Darren Hilton his follow up questions should have been how tall, was he fat, what was his hair like, distinguishing features..

I’m pissed that that you edited the comment.

After having watched the full interview elsewhere I’ve softened on him being a racist. However his use of the term “ black bastard “ was stupid even if it was just recounting his former self 40 years ago as it has clouded his message and made this into something more controversial than it should have been.
3
Colleen Harrison I have no agenda but after having watched the full video elsewhere I’m softening on whether or not he is still racist. His mistake was using the term “ black bastard “ with such hatred as it has clouded his whole message. All he had to say is that at the time he really hated black men.., and I doubt this would have generated such controversy

Jason Wright he didn’t apologise.
2
The way he said “black bastard” in 2019 suggests to me his hatred for blacks is still there.. he could have quite easily have told this story without using the term “black bastard”
2
That’s one way of unleashing revenge fantasies without hurting the innocent .
2
illwill1991 that could be the story that Liam Neeson is trying to tell, however his choice and the venom in which he used the term “black bastard” has just been taken as a sound bite that MSM have used to get more clicks and views and I’m afraid Liam’s story has been lost. He would have been a lot smarter to not have used that term and used a less controversial way of expressing how he felt at the time, given today’s very sensitive racial times
2
Master Superblaster you could be right... but how’s that working out for him now? The MSM have made a sound bite out of that and the context of the entirety of his remorseful message is lost.. that’s the trouble with talking to the MSM they want hits and more viewers and don’t care about the message that Liam was trying to convey.

vistaprime I’ve seen the whole interview elsewhere and I’m softening on whether he is still racist. Im thinking he made a huge mistake to voice how his past self 40 years ago thought. This whole “black bastard” sound bite has taken away from his whole story which one of contrition about how he felt at the time.. I suppose that’s what you get you trust the MSM who are just out to sell papers , get clicks and views . They have a different agenda to that of the person being interviewed.
1
The sound bite of “black bastard” has killed any message of contrition he was trying to get out there..
1
Spoder Man he’s an idiot for using the term “ black bastard” in his story given the current climate with what’s going on with Governor Northam
1
Spoder Man you may be right but I can’t get over his idiocy for volunteering this information to a journalist of all people.

LadyArmand2000 Damn! We agree on something.

M A I in two minds with this as Im pretty sure I would have done the same thing given I’ve reacted in a similar way in the past. The difference is that I would be channeling my efforts into finding the actual perpetrator and even though I would treat anyone who even slightly met the description with suspicion I would not condemn or hate a whole race of people for one persons act because I know there is good and bad in all people.

Hello Hi . I’d buy that if it was fat bastard or old bastard but the world is a lot more sensitive to deriding black people. No one in public eye no matter what the context is stupid enough to utter the term “black bastard” .. that was his mistake. He needs to clarify to the world that he was just quoting his younger stupider self and hope people will accept that.

Don Williams his mistake was that the MSM have made a sound bite out of it and most people aren’t t seeing the full context of his message . In retrospect he should have just said he hated black men at the time
