  2. K P well , there were 61000 deaths in the US from the flu in 2018 and revised estimated of deaths from Covid 19 in the US are at 60000

  3. @Paul Ferrante the US was one of the first countries to ban travel from China In January. Note New Zealand put the travel ban from China after the US in February .as much as I dislike Ardern I do actually agree with the closing of the borders and the hard shutdown , I just don’t think it can work in US which has very porous borders.

  4. @ohnean1 No! you’ve got that wrong. The prediction is that there will be a total of 60000 deaths from Covid 19 in the US . Similar death rates to the flu , but as I said the Flu has the advantage in that a vaccine exists for it.

  6. @K P there is no doubt that with this social distancing that flu deaths this year will come down. However, there is a vaccine for flu that already reduce flu deaths , Covid 19 doesn’t have that luxury.
