  7. @James Hughes The US women’s team have generated about the same revenue as the US men’s team for US soccer ( not World Cup) . However the women get paid a salary by US Soccer for their domestic soccer whereas the men are payed by their respective clubs. The reason women are paid by US Soccer is that they don’t generate enough domestic crowds and support to generate enough revenue for the women’s league to survive on its own. So basically US soccer is already paying the women more than the men because the men have to rely on the market to pay their domestic soccer salaries whereas the women rely on US Soccer.

  8. @James Hughes you keep missing the point. US Soccer pay the women already for playing in the domestic competition ... they don’t pay the men. Equal pay works both ways..

  9. @James Hughes women and men in the last 3 years have both generated 50 million each for US Soccer. As I’ve said they should be payed equal bonus levels from US Soccer for winning a round of the World Cup tournament ... that means the women should win a lot more than the men overall as they will win more matches. However , US Soccer should not subside the salary the women’s domestic competition as the men are not subsidised. That should make everyone happy. However I doubt anything will make the women soccer team happy.

  10. @James Hughes the best way for women to maximise their earnings is to draw larger crowds at all domestic Games .. the average crowd size is a paltry 6000 people per game with 9 clubs.. if the womens soccer league can somehow translate the World Cup victory into bums on seats , then the market will pay them more.

  14. @A Woomblea Tiger woods is just a friend of Donald Trump through their love of golf.. I don’t even know whether he is a conservative or left leaning. However I do know he has to be very careful in how he talks about Donald trump because he knows the MSM will jump all over him if he says anything even slightly supporting of Trumps policies.

  15. @A Woomblea be honest.. do you know any conservative sportsperson who has got the same level of publicity of Rapinoe? It’s only because she outspokenly anti trump that she has a platform... Proof of this is that the rest of the team are not getting any media attention unless she’s there with them.
