+AliTheAllStar Come on? it's London slang! Have you never been to other countries and the difficulties an importants of communication?

+Sonya Sever London slang is shortened versions of English words and sometimes more than one word blended together. Example: "ain't" = "is not" or "are not" "Brov" = "brother"

+Sonya Sever London slang is basic English slang but there is also 'cockney rhyming slang'. In 20th century a Cockney was somebody born in East London within the sound of Bow Bells, which I am. you would need a good understanding of English to properly understand it but here are some examples: Frog and Toad = Road Apples and Pears = Stairs Also there are words even from Russian that have become London slang nosh means food but it comes from the Russian for knife because of the days when Russian merchant Navy traded with London docks

"you ain't no Muslim brov" = you are not a Muslim brother = Вы не мусульманин брат

+AliTheAllStar yes but with so many Eastern Europeans working in our country we English people are Ambassadors to our country. Communication is very important It's a brilliant thing that, (unlike some who come to our country and want to imprison, with Islam, everybody else from their place of origin) Eastern Europeans are Inquisitive to know about our culture and meaning of our slang words How we behave is how others will remember us to their friends and family in their country, so helping people understand us also is helping us understand them - completely different than The Propaganda-

+Sonya Sever ok 🌞 hope there wasn't misunderstanding misunderstanding, I was replying to another English person, that he hadn't been to other countries, because his point was it was just "normal English"? - (which is why I thought he hadn't travelled much- even in other parts of England the slang changes in different parts of England)

+Sonya Sever I see you use the familiar form of "you" - T -but people say bro or brov to people they are not familiar with (V) but often use a shortened version of a person's name or 'nickname' people they are familiar with English is very flexible so it doesn't really matter
