  1. In 1976 all the department stores in Hong Kong were famous Japanese chains, and they were all festooned with American flags. Many of the high end hotels and restaurants, depending on their clientele, did the same. I was a 7 year old visiting with my family and I was astonished. Even in South Korea it wasn't like that.
