  2. I think the whole situation should be defused as best as possible to prevent further loss of life and escalation. Giving more weapons to the Ukrainians will result in more deaths and more damage. The Russians are bound to shoot back if they are being shot at. The outcome here will be that Russians gaining more land in the east of Ukraine and Ukraine staying neutral politically as they cannot join Nato or the EU. Look at the Cuban missile crisis, the USA would indeed have invaded Cuba had they been pushed into it.
