Agree, and I also think that coming from Natalie as a leftist that the abolition of gender is a 'utopian pipe-dream' completely unfair. Full Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism is then also just a stupid, naive utopian pipe-dream and any action towards the realizition of an idea that is so obviously liberatory for everyone, not just LGBT or the poor or the workers, is just a dumb dog-whistle and should be discarded. Fuck that.
Personally, I think it's perfectly possible to be a gender critical feminist and also be trans-inclusive. For me, being gender critical is just the abolition of anything associated with sex or gender in the way of behavior and expression and interests and all that, norms and expectations based on gender or sex. I'd like to see sex only being referred to when it needs to for biological reasons, not as a shorthand for what someone is or should be. This goes for trans people as well. I see the abolition of gender only benefitting trans people honestly. I certainly hope that without gendered expectations put on anybody, they'd maybe have less social dysphoria, which seems to be a big thing. And after the abolition of gender, if you still have bodily dysphoria in such a way that you wish to transition, go for it! But then before, during and after transition there still aren't put on you any expectations that have to do with arbitrary gendering. I don't for the life of me see how this is a bad thing for anyone. It will literally benefit EVERYONE, cis, trans and non-binary alike.
