  2. Aron puma, it's similar here in the Netherlands. We only got any information at all about South America when learning about the European discoverers. I don't think I ever heard about other civilizations in South America before Europeans started going there. I could be wrong, it was a long time ago and in the meantime I did search out that information, but I don't think we learned about that. And South America is definitely not considered part of 'the West' here.
