NICE FIX! Looks like the new Tech likes what he does and followed your suggestion to get the engine to start. COOL! I hope the Bosch parts are not junk causing the original problem. I would have said it could be a Lucas electrical part, but this isn't 1970. Thanks for this video Dave.

Even in a diesel, OIL IS CHEAP! ENGINES and ENGINE PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE! I wouldn't let that oil go longer than 4000 miles or 5 months which ever comes first. Good fix for this one. Hope the owner keeps up with better preventative maintenance.

Great ideas Dave. The engine oil has to run cooler, THAT'S number 1. Don't run the A/C while towing uphill. That also helps. I think Banks has some good ways to increase diesel engine power without smoke. I'm sure you know about that. Anyway, thanks for the video.

Nice install. Hope the owner gets many thousands of great miles from the vehicle.

Watching the crew of Dave's do the GREAT work that's done in this shop, shows the high level of professionalism, and the caring they have with every job. The videos are long but worth every minute of watching. Thanks for this video.

Those factory pigtail connectors. I've had a some of Ford F350, F450 and F550 with the 6.8 V10 have both the fuel injector and the Ign Coil give trouble with intermittent connections expecially after spark plug/ign coil replacement and for some reason the fuel injector connector would cause an intermittent misfire. Just moving the connector slightly could cause a problem. Sometimes I'd try to slightly tighten the pigtail connectors by bending the metal in the connector. Still I knew when we would get the parts in from Ford, I'd put the new pigtail in place and permanently fix the problem. Good video Dave.

I've worked on those 6.8 and 5.4 engines of 20 year's ago. I was always careful with the spark plugs coming out and going in. The L.A. City shop I was in had it's share of blown out plugs and the kit they had worked great. But those engines had that really bad spark plug thread design! Thanks for the video Dave. Great machine shop you've got there.

Looking forward to seeing when a solution is found. Listening to the prices for just parts if available, is nuts!

So, what happened to this job? Was the customer happy when the engine was running?

Really great job with this truck. It sounds great with that new exhaust. Very interesting how you got those broken bolts outa the head.

That's a real shame. You hope for the best, but expect the worse. Hope to see part two and possibly more.
