  1. Alex Your thinking of the Oldsmobile Toronado and/or the Cadillac Eldorado. They had the "North-South" engine like a rear wheel drive car AND a Front Wheel Drive ( FWD) drive train. They had a very UNIQUE "Chain Drive" in front of the automatic transmission. The chain was VERY strong, capable of handling over 400 lb ft (foot pounds) of torque. Hope This Helps.
