  1. Very good description. It never ceases to amaze me how magnetism can cause motion.....especially when cranking an engine. I've rebuilt many GM starter motors from the 1960's and 1970's during that time. My Dad taught me. Also rebuilt Ford, Chrysler, Nissan and large truck cranking motors. Never worked on an air starter. Interesting animal that one.
