  1. The government in the UK is apparently preventing insurers from having special higher rates for EV's. So petrol car drivers have to pay higher premiums even though the safety of conventional cars has improved.

  2.  @kiae-nirodiariesencore4270  Diesel is far less flammable than gasoline and posters here mostly believe it was an EV that started the Luton fire. You can't light a puddle of diesel with a flame but gasoline will not only light but cause an explosion if its warm enough for a lot of vapour to be in the air (source - personal experience playing with fire).

  3.  @afterthought3341  If you want to help the environment, don't own a car. Electric vehicles do nothing to help.

  4.  @DwaynePipes  You cant light a puddle of it with a flame. You can light it by using materials such as wood, cloth or paper to make a wick. It will burn if you poured it over a pile of wood and lit that, for example.
