  1. Build all the charging stations they want, theres nothing to power them and we cant get hold of new transformers for many years if ever or afford new generating capacity. As Mguy correctly zeroes in on, only China can do this because of their huge coal resources. The coal is also used to make new steel for transformers and other electrical stuff.
