@lrg3834 Actually it is a very bad problem to have. If it continues, reliable forms of electricity generation will be replaced by unreliable intermittent sources.

Yes, EV activists just assume it can be expanded infinitely with no limits.

We can't afford to waste diesel on that. It won't happen.
1
That doesnt sound good, the UK's electricity production has fallen from 402 TWH in 2005 to 323 TWH in 2019? That's an economic collapse.

@Sp_75-76 Barely anyone has solar panels.
1
@svr5423 A Megawatt DC charger powered by what exactly?
1
It's just not possible. There are major bottlenecks with nuclear power station construction. Then there's the fuel for them. They aren't a solution.
1
No that couldn't possibly work. If we are sucking power out of cars when they are supposed to be charging, the cars won't be driveable.
1
The problem is not that cars are parked, it's that there isn't enough power to charge them all. What don't you grasp about that?
1
@teardowndan5364 If the power isn't available when you need it, it's essentially useless. It's no good having power that only works when the wind is blowing or the sun is shining. As for building giant batteries, forget it. Do the math for God's sake.
1
if we didnt have the cars, the kids wouldnt exist in the first place. 7 out of 8 people alive today only exist because of fossil fuels.
1
@stevewest131 Lots more tyre dust though which is the worst pollutant.
1
Yes, they install them but don't connect them. It looks like we're doing something.
1
It's just impossible. We can't add massive amounts of new generation capacity and we can't build the electrical infrastructure to support it.
1
@paul756uk2 Yeah there just won't be any cars. Living standards in general will severely decline.
1
Not enough gas available. There is just no way we can expand the grid by 2 or 3 hundred percent.
1
There isn't the spare fuel for power stations or the specialist steel to build transformers.
1
@evfactsnotliesplease Just wait till they start being charged per mile driven. They are only happy now because they are freeloading off gas vehicle drivers who are paying for the roads in fuel tax.
