That's right. Production of actual goods is not increasing.

There's no real growth it seems to me. Just money printing and stagnation.

It was over when they said it was over which certainly wasn't early 2021. The nonsense went on here in the UK well into 2022. People were arrested for being outside their homes without a good enough reason.
5
"Growth" in what though? What is the US actually producing other than inflated house prices?
5
Those people can pick up more property cheap on foreclosure auctions
4
Yeah that's idiotic. We all know it got spent straight away on Playstations or whatever.
4
Yeah where is the growth? Living standards for most are far from improving.
4
@gagamba9198 in the empty hospitals.
3
I wouldnt call it knowledge.
3
Yeah I think that's right, it helps soak up all the excess money. If people were to spend that money instead of 'investing' it, imagine the inflation.
3
The weirdest part was when they just decided not to talk about it any more after the invasion of Ukraine.
3
@melissachartres3219 It's a case of telling Americans happy stories
2
@rayhill5767 If the prices of essentials like food, energy and housing go up enough the overall economy collapses. If essentials are cheap, the economy tends to do well.
2
I work from home so my life didnt change much except everything was closed, thus rendering life even more depressing.
2
Yes this isnt good.
2
That's not a vast amount really.
2
Everything is fine as long as Peter keeps being paid.
2
Problem is it's very light oil which Peter doesn't know is not very desirable oil because you can't make diesel fuel, jet fuel or fuel oil for ships out of it.
2
@matthewgoedtel5998 That's insane, $,1,200 would be gone straight away. What is he smoking.
1
Deflation is a fantasy exclusive to Americans. It doesnt really happen.
1
@Dreadwolf3155 Luckily I work from home so I just never went and got it. Then it all blew over. I believe the jabs are just a red herring as was the illness itself.
1
@rd0676 I have not had the jab in question but I have had plenty of other jabs and would still get them. Just not this one.
1
@rd0676 I would have had the jab if it improved my 5g signal.
1
Printing is bad but unfortunately not printing would be even worse.
1
@apextroll Will the price of eggs go back down is the question when the epidemic is over.
1
@rayhill5767 A real collapse wont be like that.
1
They just keep printing money so it looks like there's 'growth'.
1
@tsubadaikhan6332 He means they got other jobs. That seemed pretty clear.
1
@RicBentley I think it was about trrying to stimulate the economy. They did it in the UK as well, handed out more money to people who were already claiming unemployment. I heard a theory that prior to the lockdown the banking system was about to collapse.
1
The US is heading for economic collapse. There won't be any shortage of money though, just nothing to buy.
1
@winter6892 Lots of homeless encampments in Denver and over 41 million Americans are on food stamps (now called SNAP).
1
@petertensuda1192 Yep like the Soviet Union.

We had lockdowns and masks into 2022 as well here in the UK. There was rolling news covering the number of 'cases', pumping the people full of fear. It went on and on and I feared it would never end. I never felt the slightest concern about catching it and indeed i did catch it and my immune system handled it without issues. It was a real lesson about how irrational people are and how easily they can be controlled. I feel sure it will happen again.
1
@whoshotashleybabbitt4924 There has been an attempt in the media to gaslight the people and claim the lockdown was entirely voluntary and businesses simply chose to close.
