  1. Experiencing things as a child doesn't just motivate you to understand Pedophiles, but also gives you Experience with a Pedophile. They have more in common than just their victimology. As an adult, we understand things that we didn't at the time, but pedophiles show a part of themselves to their victims that nobody else gets to see. I have to point out that Stranger Danger was not a Pedophile. That's the profile of an Opportunistic Offender, who targets children because they're High Risk victims. A Pedophile desires a relationship with the victim, so even if they are a Stranger, they try to insert themselves into the victim's lives. This gives you time with the offender, while he's grooming you, in which they open up. They lie to you, and being children, we're convinced, but as adults, we know their lies better than anyone that hasn't been targeted by one, as a child. Even through interviewing victims, because children don't know what's significant, until we grow up. It all starts sounding very familiar, whenever we talk to one online, or in every day life. We also feel protective of children, of course. However, it must be noted that a Preferential Pedophile is not the only thing they're at risk to. There are also Opportunistic Offenders that target them because they're vulnerable, more than because they're young (Or male, blonde, or whatever. Opportunistic Offenders have much broader victimology, they may also assault the elderly, handicapped, drunk, or otherwise temporarily vulnerable.)

  2. Don't bother asking why they're doing what they're doing. Most often, "Because I can." A lot of them are delusional about love, (I consider Preferential Pedophilia a form of Power-Reassurance rape) and they lie as part of their M.O. You're never going to get a straight answer out of them, just the same excuses, but the truth is it's not important Why they abuse children. We don't need to know that to stop them. How they go about it is much more useful.

  3. One thing he didn't really address is the emotional labor, that burns you out. You have to go places (Online or IRL) say and do things that are extremely uncomfortable. To say the least, especially the strategy of posting a profile, and reading through the friend requests. As a survivor, that's extremely triggering, when you see the same approaches that you saw as a victim. Quite honestly, it's exhausting. It's worth it, but it still takes it's toll.

You ever been on 4chan? Just scrolled down the avatar photos? Don't read the comments, totally not worth it, but in case you haven't. They're mostly Lolicon, Shotacon, Tentacon (Furry, Futanari...) Hentai photos. So, let me get this straight, you discovered a super secret childporn ring in a Pizzaria, and you decide to announce it on 4chan, of all places?
