  1. In what form? After the fall of Istanbul, it could have possibly survived in the Despotate of Morea, retaken Crete, and the Kytheras (Antekythera) from Venice, and possibly revived some semblance of the Greek empire. I seriously doubt it could have survived the Ottomans, if there were Ottomans, but possibly with the Venetians as allies, Dalmatia, and similar holdings, they could have had enough of a fleet to hold the Pelepos, and the major Islands. I'd stop calling it the Byzantine Empire once they lost Byzantium, though. So, I guess I'd call them the Morean Empire.
