  1. It was good up to the 4th act. That's basically the problem, it didn't need a 4th act, that's why it's called a "Three act structure." It just needed to end when the story was over, but no. They just had to throw in a bad CGI fight.

  2. They did the same thing in Batman v Superman, and it kinda worked. Only because the resolution to the 3rd act "Save Martha" was so anti-climatic. So, they kinda needed the big bossfight at the end to make the buildup payoff. (And do something with Wonderwoman, who was stuck on a plane.) If they'd done it right in the first place, there would have been no need for a 4th act.
