  1. Louis Cyphre is about the best depiction I've seen so far. I'd probably call Keyser Soze the second. I believe in Evil. It's good I'm not so sure about. Is there a singular supernatural force behind it? No, men alone are quite capable of every wickedness. Evil is basically Entropy. Heat. It's easy to do wrong, but to do no wrong, you have to be perfect. Satan is when you stop trying to do any good at all. Manson. He's not The Devil, but he's got his number.

  2. Jobe is a Jack Tale. "The devil went down to Georgia..." They probably told a lot of stories about that, and they still do. This might be the origin of the "Deal With the Devil," even though it was God that was taking that bet. No where else does God, ever take a bet with Evil, then torment mortals to settle that bet. I consider it extremely Apocryphal.
