  1. Fandoms=/=Religions Especially when you realize how Heretical these works potentially were. Star Wars vs Star Trek fans can get pretty heated, but you can't literally be hunted down and executed for writing that Spock/McCoy slashfic. People were literally hunted down, and literally executed, in some really gruesome ways over these stories. Most of the Apostles were, by all accounts. Simon Peter was reportedly crucified up-side down, and he was the Pope.

  2. Bram Stoker wrote a Fanfic of History. Vlad Țepeș, Drculea wasn't even the worst we had on our side in that Crusade, but as long as they did it to the Ottomans. He's still the Hero of Romania, and not The Horror out of Wallach, to this day. However much you get into your fandom, you are not that hard-core. You will never be that hard-core.
