I get it that different countries would rather tell the history of certain coutries rather than others (I am from Israel and we didn't learn about East Asia, for example). But with all the mess going around, maybe it's to put it back. You know, even one lesson, not a whole year.

Actually Arabs never were fine with that. The moment their heard the Jews are going to get a country, they said no. And no matter how much more land they got, they kept saying no. They ever said no to the one state solution (White Paper - 1939) which says there would be one country not Arabs and not Jewish (but we all know what it would have become if it ever happened) because Jews were still allowed to immigrate at alll (16k for the next 5 years. YES, during thw Holocause as well, nothing changed. But many Jews got there anyway. but no one counted them, but they were more than happy to count the non legal Arab immigrant to the countings).
