To be fair to new vehicles of any era or type, proper maintenance is crucial. People who buy new cars rely on dealer service intervals until they are out of warranty, and even then some people don't even bother. I know a guy who blew up his then-new F250 back in 2001 because he didn't bother to change the oil for over a year after he took delivery from the dealer. And my dad was one of those guys who stopped maintenance when the warranty ran out.

@ProjectFarm this video made me regret selling my 2004 Burb, the front end work looks a lot easier than it is on my '97. I now see the huge advantage of torsion bars when doing front end rebuilds.

7:00 okay so I'm not the only one who has thought up a way to bleed the brakes with an electric pump, that's cool. I'm trying to set up a system that also feeds new fluid into the reservoir as the old fluid is drawn down the lines, too. Basically it will be an empty bottle to catch the old stuff and a full bottle to feed the res all in a closed loop. There are kits on ebay but I don't think they work in the exact same way I have in mind.
