@PsychonunBO2 no it isn't. You can't shame psychopaths.

he's still alive, therefore there's a chance he may get to leave Earth BEFORE he dies. He's saving up his YT money for a rocket ride with Bexos
16
the APPLAUSE sign was malfunctioning, like their second stage separation at the time.
15
when it becomes clear to his fans that Mars isn't happening, he'll move the goalpost to Titan
13
@craig3916 you don't get into the top ten on Diablo IV if you're working 110 hours a week, what's more ridiculous is that the shareholders never call him out for this

I remember arguing with a guy in one of these comments sections about Tesla's production numbers. I think it was December of 2021 and I said they wouldn't break 1,000,000. He cursed me out, insulted me in every way possible, all the things an angry child might say and do. I believe they ended up selling 962,000 units that year or something like that. In January, I went back, found the thread, and called him out on it i and he just ignored me like the coward that most of those people are.

@phillyphakename1255 we won't have hair forever, gotta flex it while you can

@subboid space shuttle boosters were reuseable since 1981. The only disposable portion of STS was the fuel tank, a big hollow tank with very little valuable hardware inside. Controlled landings for boosters are a dumb waste of development time and payload capacity, tell us again who the griftees are?
8
buy Rivian, they have a better business plan
6
@phillyphakename1255 reusability is a red herring and always has been. At best it's a totally unnecessary engineering flex.
5
And yet he claims to work 100 hours a week and sleeps on the factory floor.... riiiiight. It shouldn't have taken him actually demonstrating his lack of knowledge of game play for people do have done the math on that.
4
then he decides to play Ave Maria 6 times
3
you could open your own shirt folding business and make 3x the purchase price in the first year, but we're selling it instead because we're financial geniuses.

There's a reason mass transit busses are so basic, and Musk doesn't seem to know what that reason is. If it had the capacity of a normal bus AND solved the ground clearance issue with active suspension, it would then cost several times more than a typical municipal bus. What transit operator would throw down for it?

Shoutout from Western Connecticut

Tesla: 8 years of development, still no Roadster GM: clean sheet to production EVs is less than 4 years

@SDGreg why do you act like we can't pick up the plans and build the same lunar lander, or at the very least start with that as a basis for a new design? SLS is a case of a company with a lot invested trying to adapt something to a use it wasn't designed for, a bad comparison that has nothing to do with anything we're talking about. Did it ever occur to you that the heavy lift program was intentionally doomed to fail because conservatives in government hate science? No one is even trying to build another Saturn, because it's too small for the current heavy lift requirements. Every time Musk comes up with a bigger payload number I think "did he just FORGET the rocket equation?" By the time he's done quoting specs the tip of the rocket on the pad will reach LEO, and no one is even questioning that.
3
@SDGreg and who was in charge of awarding the contract, and what is her job at SpaceX today?
3
@Erasmustherobot imagine anyone saying "postmodern leftist rhetoric" and expecting to be taken seriously
3
@georgH Energia was successfully adapted as a heavy lift system on its own because it was designed to do that from the beginning. The US should have swooped in on that design and used a joint space program to build better relations with RF from the very beginning.
3
Tesla is at the bottom of Consumer Reports' quality charts with a bunch of Stellantis products.

25:57 let's work through the logic here: Afghanistan, the Taliban, all those people are terrorists, right? (right wing logic, not mine.) So why the FUCK would we want them breeding more terrorists? We should be putting birth control chemicals directly into their water supply FFS. The naked inconsistencies in every fucking thing the right says should drive anyone with a pulse into the belltower.
2
@MeCooper was your dad Rick James??
2
@ScientistBaffled manned space flight is important, yes. It gives people in related fields something to look forward to, and it inspires new people to populate them. Whether or not it has any other benefits remains to be seen, but there's no reason not to try. Space programs aren't the reason there is hunger and war in the world, there are no either/or solutions for any of the world's problems.

a quntainer

@scroopynooperz9051 I forgot about Dre
2
You misspelled "investor." He hasn't invented anything.
2
@alexturnbackthearmy1907 and SpaceX is trying to recreate N-1 with a couple dozen engines burning at once instead of several larger ones. They're also trying to perfect the full flow engine design, another discarded piece of Soviet tech.
2
@SDGreg "or at the very least start with that as a basis for a new design"... did you not read that part? What about a tall cylinder that requires a hoist or elevator for egress is better than a low, relatively flat vehicle with a 5 foot ladder?
2
@Klaus_Klavier for a special interest group that represents the nation-state which depends entirely on US military aid to exist to not criticize anyone with Musk's current political power should surprise no one, and yet here all of you are gargling his balls just as the ADL did.
2
@Stealth55555 no you don't.
2
Another thing NASA is good at is spreading research and contracts all across the country to get budget votes from as many districts as possible. It's only a true, boiling hatred of science that would motivate congresspeople to vote against it, and I can only think of one political party that describes.
2
meanwhile Lucid hired a "legacy" automaker exec to run their production, and haven't had any labor issues. Go figure.
2
I hope all the "leftists" who sat out the election over Ukraine and Palestine enjoy the return of high food prices and the Muslim ban...
2
@my3dviews his family disavowing him happened more than a year BEFORE he endorsed Trump.

Know what solves traffic problems? Trains, trams, buses and bicycles.

he has a dacha in St Petersburg waiting for him

I like how you opened with an intellectual fraud who brags about how many fist fights he's been in

it would seem that malignant narcissists who lack self awareness are drawn to each other

@nightshadowblade BYD can't beat the tariffs, they end up costing as much as a Tesla

and he's probably a shitty drummer, too! (just kidding, but I'd never heard of him before this case.)
1
me: hey lets figure out how much cold gas thrust you'd need to move an actual passenger carrying pod within an evacuated tube Musk: no

@sarkybugger5009 lifetime peers need to go

@samus598 she wouldn't because of the system.

Imagine being so desperate for attention that a Twitter response from the chief twit himself makes you jizz in your pants. I mean, I get stoked when one of my favorite YT creators responds to my comments, but I don't go apeshit over it. It simply reaffirms that we think alike on whatever topic they are covering. No responses from Phil yet, but IDC enough about it to be depressed over it either. Motherf*ckers just need to grow the f*ck up I guess is what I'm saying.

No one who I've talked to who was doing okay before the election believed me when I said we were about to become a full fledged fascist state. They'd rather pretend that they can keep going on as before, and even the liberal ones don't seem to give a shit. And every tech company going along with this bullshit is doing just as the boards of IG Farben, Mercedes and every other German company in existence in 1933 did for the following 12 years.
1
@LudicrousBarchart Trumpamaniacs and Muskrats get by on hearing stuff that fits their worldview, they never look anything up.
1
@metaleater9 want some dressing for that word salad, Adolf?
1
@kevadu start making science videos

Venture capitalists exist to extract as much wealth from an operation as possible, they have no higher calling or responsibility to society at large. That's the mentality pushing startup culture, because that's who is funding it.
