Into Darkness could have been better, especially when Khan introduced himself in a way that made you think Kirk was supposed to know who he was... terrible scene fragment. But I liked it better than most ST fans and it opened a door for Khan and the Augments down the road. Beyond though? Really? What a piece of CRAP. CRAP CRAP CRAP.

  5. Nobody mentions how FRINGE was actually a good show that nevertheless ended stupidly like all the others. It referenced X-Files but there was never a crossover, and then the X-Files reboot features a flashback scene where there is an "Agent Broyles" in the background. Too bad we lost Lance Reddick before some future nostalgic cash grab could make that happen. After all, Peter's son is still living on the alternate Earth with Fauxlivia...

  7. I grew up on radio. Commercial, NPR, college radio, and talk radio. Car Talk was a staple. So was Coast To Coast AM, but I was the guy laughing at the crazy callers and ridiculous guests. Phil Hendrie was peak radio. but I can only hear him online these days. He is a guy who "gets" the whole thing, and his show is both parody and tribute to the entire medium.

They believe in Jesus but not the brown one, they talk about God but rarely go to church, they support Israel but they hate Jews. They're just fucked up people, the kind Stalin knew could never be taught to appreciate socialism without the same old threats of state violence. Maybe that's EXACTLY what they need. The older I get, the tankier I become.

  14. There aren't enough rich people to sustain the nutritional needs of the rest of the population. We'd have to create a lot more rich people if we want to use them as along term protein source, so that's not sustainable.

  15. 21:30 I have to disagree about JJ Asshat's Star Trek. If you don't think Kirk was an action hero or that TOS was an action series, then you certainly don't remember all of Shat's fight scenes. I think the movie allowed that aspect of Kirk to unfold in a satisfying way, and the alternate timeline allowed for the fan service to seem perfectly legitimate. Of course, it was all downhill from there, and allowing Simon Pegg to write the script for the ultimate franchise killer Beyond might have been the worst decision in the entire history of the franchise, at least until Discovery dropped. As far as the earlier TV property based films, none of the TNG flicks were worth a hot crap on a cold morning, but Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country were instant classics of sci-fi that still hold up. Ricardo Montalban and Christopher Plummer quoting Shakespeare just like real life psychopaths do? Are you saying that was bad? Shame on you, shame, shame, shame.

  17. Do you lie pizza? Everyone likes pizza. Pizza is generally covered in cheese. Cheese is aged milk. People who don't like pizza are messed up. People who didn't "get" your last video probably don't like pizza either, so I wouldn't bother with them.
