  1.  @peterstafford4426  What I'm having trouble following is how you link those two things together negatively. I can see Trump is a liar, because I can think critically. Carlin encouraged people to do just that. He was a product of the counter-culture beginning with the beat generation, he just didn't embrace it until a bit later in his career than the other comics in his age group. He'd likely be a progressive independent today, nothing to do with Trump at all. Anyone with real critical thinking skills would know that you can't court re-constructionist Christians, the KKK and associated neo-Nazis groups and simultaneously support civil rights for women, people of color and the LGBTQ community.

  3.  @peterstafford4426  it's useless talking to you when you refuse to take anything in context. I'm aware that Carlin was a struggling comic, but he didn't invent hippies. I'm also aware that the beats and the later hippies were no less sexist than any other generation, except for maybe not preventing women from working.

  6.  @peterstafford4426  maybe in higher education if you choose those kinds of courses. We weren't given any serious critical thinking skills in K-12. That's starting to change in some places, but it's the exception not the rule.
