  2. Amazon is developing the next iteration of this idea, which they plan to call the Kindle Charade. It continually recites the titles of trendy books, but you don't have to buy or read them. You just pay a monthly fee for the "service" of impressing people. The device can't be used to read books, but it does have a fake screen that you can stare at while pretending to read them.
