To all the republicans in comments: our royal family only cost us £60 million per annum, which is tiny compared to other things we pay for, like throwing away billions on foreign aid. Our culture has been relentlessly attacked and we need to protect as much of it as possible, with the royal family being a part of that culture. They are a bargain and a reminder of who we are as a people. This is not just some random island where foreigners come to live, we have an ancient culture that needs to be protected.

@FatalPies No it's not, nationalism is rising everywhere, with Trump, Brexit, Orban (Hungary), Salvini (Italy) Le Pen (France) all winning or about to win in their nations. We are witnessing a paradigm shift where globalism is giving way to national populism. Our countries will all have a bright future and we'll fight for it if we have to. People should never give up, until it's over.
