Julie Fisk, No one, even Bill Gates himself says that he is a vaccine expert. He is simply being asked for his opinion. As he clearly is a highly intelligent individual which coupled with his strong interest in vaccines, it's not surprising he would know and understand a thing or two about the subject. Thus he can have an INFORMED opinion. Nothing unusual. Many people with good and inquisitive minds have an understanding of more subjects than that of their selected profession. You just find the topic that interests you and seek information about it. With the internet, it's relatively quick and easy to find. Before we had libraries. It took longer but was absolutely possible. Years ago I had a fascination with ionizing radiation. To learn about it I'd borrow books from libraries and read, and read even on school holidays until I had the understanding. Just because I wanted to. I suggest you try. In no time you will have enough knowledge to separate fiction and bs from rational facts. It's liberating.

There is no need to bag him either. I don't see what having questionable friends have to do with being competent in any area. You put your trust in science. Fair enough. However, judging by the wording of your reply I have little confidence you are able to tell science from "science"? If you did you wouldn't make the absurd assertion about Bill Gates purporting to be a vaccine expert. There is no indication of it anywhere. It's just an interview with the questions asked not of the highest order either. If it was Bob Dylan we would just hear bored monosyllabic grunts as answers, or silence. I love Dylan. He has no time for stupidity and doesn't even pretend he has. There is no such thing as Bill Gates' vaccines. He does not make vaccines, he doesn't even own any vaccine producing labs so the statement "his vaccines have hurt many people" is absurd.

In all honesty, I would smirk too when faced with an absurd question. Microchips in vaccines are one of the absurdities. This or snort with laughter if one is less able to control their reactions.

@stlnski3600 It's not just in Bill Gates's mind that the world is overpopulated. He isn't the only one aware of the problem. The planet IS overpopulated. The planet is a closed system not unlike a fish tank. You can only keep a finite maximum number of fish per cubic meter of water. You exceed the maximum numbers and the environment becomes too polluted - both the fish and the environment go to pot. At least fish tank water can be changed. There is no way of changing the air in the Earth's atmosphere - there are no windows and no garbage removal out into outer space.

@dvjfredmerc529 It's not really that complex. No software required. An average person with a reasonable education and the ability to think can estimate the consequences of our behaviour. You've worked it out; increased density of population, increased travel = increased transmission. There are already documented cases of disease transmission from animal to human and a number of known diseases that one can catch from domestic animals, add to this human expansion onto wildlife habitat, keeping and breeding wild animals then trading them for profit, and bingo. We have the perfect breeding ground for a cocktail of new diseases we will need to get acquainted with. Then, as bugs cross the species, they mutate to adapt to new hosts. Unfortunately, 70-80% of people are mindless, entitled and unable to foresee the consequences of their behaviour, and cannot see what's coming. Google experimented with quantum computer and the outcome of their experiment was so scary, google decided not to continue. Especially that it doesn't matter anymore. It's done. Our self made fate appears to be sealed.

@antlerr Firstly, check out the definition of "puppet". Puppets' strings are pulled by somebody else. A puppet is 100% passive and does somebody else's bidding. Clearly, it's not Bill Gates who made his own path. That's patently obvious, thus he cannot be anybody's puppet. Secondly, he is NOT involved in the research, production, or administration of vaccines. That he is pushing needles into everyone's arm is preposterous - laughable. Where does this myth even come from? You are the one who is buying the absurd agenda of conspiracy theories lunatics. People are so stupid and uneducated that they cannot see the obvious: we keep animals in crowded conditions hence diseases spread easily; people live in crowded conditions and what's worse encroach into the wild animal habitat thus we get exposed to diseases previously confined to the wilderness. But that's probably too inconvenient to take stock of our actions. Much easier to escape into conspiracy theories and blame others who can see the problem. For America. Most of Europe figured it out a century ago. There is no glory, in fact, it's totally irresponsible to produce children just because one can. It's the easy part. To become a competent software engineer, let alone good, one needs to have a good grasp of mathematics, ergo one must have a good logical mind. To create software, mathematical skills are indispensable.

Unless it's expertly used by a highly intelligent and witty individual it will leave others cold, regardless of whether their language is their first, second or third. See Oscar Wild. His comebacks are sharp, witty, and to the point. One gets this kind of sarcasm easily. There are others just as brilliant. However, most people who leave comments here are not the sharpest tools in the shed at the best of times. Sarcasm then, if detected is the lowest form of wit at best making one uncertain where they are going with it. There was one particular Hungarian Gypsy I met. He spoke just some single words in English, I didn't speak any Hungarian. He was brilliant in communication: in 4 words, not even joined together properly, he was able to make his point in both being witty and on serious topics. He has already given his entire fortune away some years ago and made it back again, and then some. With the surplus of money he has, he is able to fund projects he is interested in. I can see you have no clue who the guy is. Which part of providing funds for research do you confuse with participating in research. I donate money to various causes, mostly animal welfare. It is not involved in the development or production of anything. The lab scientists are. Neither Melinda nor Bill gates are scientists. Foundation merely funds the resources. He made his money not from using computers but from creating software, being better than very good at it, then creating the entire corporation which employs talented people who create more products. Hard to argue with this: more people can afford to buy, and he makes more money. The philosophy that too many others have and it doesn't take them very far.

No philosophy is necessary to have passion for figure skating, for example. As far as interests go, people have those along with their chosen profession. He also parted with his fortune some years ago. Only to earn it again. The guy can have other interests outside of his profession/business. You are out of line trying and box him in. I know an MD who specializes in allergies. His first degree was in agriculture. He developed interest in medicine while working in agriculture. He then did a medical; degree. He is a formidable doctor because he THINKS, and doeasn't follow worn paths. He finds solutions to people's health issues where other doctors run out of options. Looking outside of immediate vocation, outside worn out and used up paths makes for more well rounded people who actually contribute rather than just taking up valuable space on the planet.. More of them are needed. As for human body, we operate very much like a pre programmed computer. All vital body functions take place automatically. No need to remember to breath or digest. Your brain is your hardware, It also runs on software. This includes neural pathways and the way you think. Some of the software serves us, some works against us. People who sabotage themselves are a very good example of running on software that harms them. Are they aware of it? Usually not. Free will is an illusion - our responses are automatic. There is a protocol for it. The research is often done by universities, but mostly by pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical companies test vaccines in clinical trials. Bill Gates Foundation donated funds to Oxford Uni for research into Covid19 vax in cooperation with AstraZeneca pharma. The research and clinical trials were botched. The less than desirable standard of clinical trials is 100% the responsibility of AstraZeneca. If you have any problems here, you need to determine which pharma produced the offensive vaccine you claim is killing children. One of the most problematic pharmaceutical companies is Pfizer. Pfizer paid the highest to date fine for fudging data and deceiving US Government. Pfizer is NOT Bill Gates, in fact, Pfizer has nothing to do with Bill Gates. He may own some shares but a lot of people do. What is on public record, though, is that US and UK governments did medical tests on their own population, without informed consent, and on other, vulnerable nations. Again Bill Gates has nothing to do with it. In fact, at the time the unlawful tests first came to light, Bill Gates was a young child. You're barking up the wrong tree.

Think about the Earth and its atmosphere as a large fish tank. Similar to the Earth's environment, the fish tank is a closed system. How many fish you can keep per cubic meter with the fish and plants remaining healthy. Even if you group some fish together in a separated compartment, the end product ill be the same. The number of fish per cubic meter is still the same. Fishtank has many advantages over the Earth's closed system: you can install filters, siphon shit off the bottom, and change the water. The Earth has no waste disposal, no windows to refresh used up air. What remains is stewing in our own by-products and wastes. As it is the oceans will soon have more plastic waste than fish and other life. The equation is simple: large numbers of people consume large amounts. The capitalist economies encourage mindless consumption pushing people to buy stuff they don't need. Just want another new shiny object.

Every person deserves a decent standard of living, good free education, and healthcare. In equitable societies, everyone is better off: there is less violence, less crime and people contribute to the betterment of their country. Merck is the Gardasil patent holder in the US. Enlighten me as to the Gateses' involvement here and how they made millions. I saw some of the Microsoft depositions out of curiosity. To me, Gates is not creepy just clever and crafty in taking advantage of the ill-prepared interrogator. Interesting to watch, other than that nothing to see there. In Europe, he was faced with a more astute counterpart, and consequently, Microsoft was fined heavily for breaching antitrust laws. Reading through comments here and elsewhere, I noticed that Americans and Australians feel strangely threatened by intelligent or clever people. Even people with good language skills are derided. I can understand why though I certainly do not share this sentiment. One always learns something of value from a well-spoken intelligent person.

As for "he stole, they stole" seems to be a traditional business model in the US so why would Bill Gates choose to depart from normality. It won't serve him. I don't see any sliminess in Bill Gates, just amused craftiness. To me, it was quite obvious from Gate's facial expressions that he knew his opponent was weak and that he ran circles around his interrogator. Watch the depositions with an open mind instead of a preformed opinion/judgment and you might find the spectacle entertaining as well as educational. In the end, Gayes won here. He kindly agreed to modify his ways. He is born and bred American. Thus he is naturally predatory - it's a dominant culture in the US business practices. Normal practice for the US. Any research facility, university, in particular, receives some funding from the government plus funding from foundations and private individuals. Bill Gates did not fund "IT" he provided some of the funds required for equipment, materials, the scientists, the maintenance of the facility. This is what funding means and it ends here. Funding providers, government included do not require details about how the funds were spent or what materials/ingredients were purchased. The professionals engaged/employed make decisions and disburse funds. Those who provide funding, and those who do the work on it have no way of knowing if the project will be successful. Queensland lab in Australia received funding to develop a Covid19 vaccine. It hasn't worked out and trials were abandoned. Meantime money was needed and used to pay salaries, purchase equipment, products etc. Without the funding, the project wouldn't get started. Funding allows for the development of projects. That's all
