Prayers to you John. Thanks for being an auto journalism icon. ๐

CPO that isn't manufacturers certified is a TOTAL SCAM.

That engine and JATCO CVT are a long term reliability NIGHTMARE
31
John Davis is an American treasure. All these years hosting MotorWeek.
27
So good to see John Davis behind the wheel. He's amazing. And I like it that Lincoln isn't chasing the damn Germans, focusing on giving buyers style, comfort, rolling smoothness, and quiet. Life is hard enough, its nice to be coddled while stuck in traffic ๐
22
LEASE if you must, never buy a JATCO/NISSAN CVT equipped vehicle. Resale value is horrendous because the junk CVT has a long history of early failure, even after a total transmission replacement.
22
Lowest rated vehicle for 2024 per Consumer Reports
22
Always good to hear John Davis on the voiceovers. The 3 cylinder engines and FWD CVT are a nope from me on this Trailblazer... just give it a 2L turbo four and a 8 speed automatic
16
Really attractive styling and interior. Just wish Buick would sell that gorgeous big Avenir concept sedan.
15
Always good to see John Davis ๐
14
JATCO CVT is positively crap, never use this vehicle to tow. The first question the dealership will ask you after the CVT grenades itself is "have you towed anything" and then try to weasel out of the warranty claim, saying you towed more weight than allowed and caused the CVT to overheat. Avoid all JATCO/Nissan CVT equipped vehicles. The resale value of these vehicles is pathetic.... because the market knows that the JATCO CVT is junk.

Its a beautiful Jaguar, especially the new interior and the incredible blue paint. I just wish that JLR would produce a new energy XJ6 executive sedan
10
Nope, too expensive for lazy handling. I'd buy a Stinger or Genesis instead. Most Americans will buy a VW Atlas for similar money.
10
Always good to see John Davis behind the wheel!!
9
Beautiful car. And obviously reliable
8
Lease a VW, DO NOT BUY
6
Lease it or get rid of the VW before the warranty runs out. I've owned two VW vehicles, I know.
5
John Davis is awesome. The background music is very annoying. The Genesis is very handsome ๐
5
John Davis is a bona-fide national treasure ๐คด
5
The interior isn't my thing. I like the wood and leather lined club room that Jaguar used to have. The styling is attractive, but no longer oozes class. And where did the XJ6 executive sedan go? John Davis continues to be the best and a national treasure. ๐
4
Congratulations Mr Davis! Very well deserved ๐

Same here

That's an attractive Chevy Equinox, ummm, a GMC Terrain.... ohhh yeah, a Caddy XT something. Go back to real names, Cadillac. And this XT is way too expensive for most urban dwelling millenials it's been targeted at.... Cadillac is a zombie brand, Johann put a stake through its proud heart with his incredibly bad management of the division.
4
The new 2020 Corvette is a better value and has a mid-engine V8..... A CHEVY COR-RARI.
4
Korea by DAEWOO
4
No magic seat, middling fuel efficiency, no hybrid, SLOW, and looks like an Escape. Tucson hybrid please, or even a Corolla Cross hybrid
4
Yes.
3
GAWD, so bored of tall boxy uninspiring crossovers. This is like the minivan plague of the 80s/90s.
3
The perfect Boomer-Mobile. Pile in the grandkids and drive them to Disneyworld. Stay at the Polynesian Resort. The XT6 is nice enough, not overly technology-laden, comfortable, easy to drive.... and the local Cadillac dealer is a member of your golfclub, so you can get a sweet deal. Gotta think about the mentality of the target audience Best of all, Boomers can tell the other oldheads that you're driving around in a brand new Caddy....
3
YAWN..... ANOTHER TALL STATION WAGON
3
Typical 80s domestic quality
3
The white BZ4x with the black cladding has a Star Wars stormtrooper vibe. It desperately needs one-pedal driving capability
3
So many Neon problems. AC compressor failures, transmission failures, snd sooooo many blown head gaskets. We had about 20 in my Thrifty rental fleet in the 90s. Chrysler trash....
3
Boomer retirement demographic. The trunk and backseat are humongous. Its a long distance freighter, not a canyon carver. With the Taurus and Impala dead, and the Chrysler 300 even more ancient than the Passat... this is perfect for its demographic and built ib the USA
2
I'll wait for the Ford Maverick hybrid
2
Horrendously bad crash test results. A death ๐ trap, even for its time โฒ
2
Buy a new Mazda 3. The 1.4T VW is a nightmare. Turbocharger failures and oil leaks. Ask any foreign car mechanic....
2
Move up to a Trailblazer. It offers 4 wheel drive and a 1.3L turbo that has more horsepower
2
Bloated looking. The last generation looked better. This is way too big for what was once a tiny sports ute.
2
Pure JATCO CVT JUNK
2
Yes, he certainly does
2
A turbo 3 cylinder and a 6 speed automatic? That doesn't seem like a recipe for long durability to me, besides being made in Korea (by Daewoo)
2
Looks like it was styled by Lincoln. And the Acura grille emblem is ridiculously huge
2
Beautiful car with an absolutely awful engine, the head tosser 4.1 ๐คฎ๐คฎ
2
Beautiful, elegant, slightly Range Rover-ish styling and a gorgeous American sized interior. 400 horsepower and 415 ft/lbs torque? Cadillac just got beat up for its lunch money.
2
Did the BZ4x loose a wheel during testing?? Lolzzz
2
Hello, Kia? Cadillac called and they want their taillights back. You didn't fool anyone buy turning them upside down. Okthxsbye.
2
This is definitely not a PREMIUM compact SUV, lots of interior plastic trim and the 3 cylinder engine is gruff and loud ๐ฎ Buick needs to equip Envista with the Chinese ๐จ๐ณ market turbo 4 to differentiate it from the Chevy Trax

Soooooooooooo SLOW ๐ข

The CAM-RAY
1
Cadillac is ONLY Escalade.... its the only true V8 powered Caddy. Same thing at Lincoln with the Navigator now that the Continental is deceased ๐
1
How much oil did it burn??
1
Godspeed, Pat. Condolences ๐ to his family and friends.

Always great to see John Davis!

EQS is the future

SOOOOOO BLAND INSIDE AND VERY DATED
1
John, always good to hear your thoughts. Been a fans since the 80s when I watched you on WHYY-12 in Philadelphia.
1
John, like this format. Always good to see you.
1
Hi John Davis! Been watching you and Motorweek since the 1980s. This new generation Escalade looks, dare I say it, subdued in comparison with previous generations. Its definitely been toned down a bit. But dear GAWD, is it humongous inside. Thanks for the upload and keep well, Motorweek crew! ๐ท๐ท๐ท
