Flew a Delta 757-300 from ATL to PHX two summers ago. A great ride.

The A380 has no use as an air freighter. Its top deck isnt strong enough to support the weight of large cargo containers. The aircraft was designed strictly for passenger service. The 747F was originally designed as a freighter, then modified for passenger use by Boeing. Thus, its cornered the large air freight market with the major air cargo operators.

Of course I'll miss the 747 and the A380. But the age of tri-jets ended, and now the age of the quad jet is ending... except as an air cargo freighter. The 777X and A350 programs are both in deep trouble, as many of the Airlines that ordered them in bulk are now either bankrupt or insolvent.

All airlines in the post COVID future will fly highly simplified fleets. Alaska is just reflecting that new reality

A beautiful airliner. The stretched -500 series will be a even more formidable competitor to the E2 Embraer.
4
The airspeed pitot system is TRIPLE redundant. Maintenance washed the plane and forgot to uncover the pitot tubes.... shoddy

I normally avoid American and United Airlines, but I flew a Delta Airbus A330 from Atlanta to Phoenix... plane was about 3/4 full.

Will likely fail like the SSJ on the parts, warranty and maintenance services side of the equation. See Interjet's experience

Boeing's executives should have been charged, not Forkner. Forkner was Boeing's and the FAA's sacrificial lamb.... and obviously the jury recognized that fact.

Whatever happened to the design of the 787-300??? Could it be dusted off, updated & used as a NMA/797

This new freighter will be highly successful. It has huge load capabilities and two engines. Much more fuel efficient than a 747-8F.
2
Very similar to what USAirways did on its Philadelphia transatlantic routes... although some were seasonal

PRECISELY
2
Lots of landing gear problems with this aircraft
2
Typically unprofessional Air France

Why would anyone want to fly to Hong Kong??? Between COVID and loss of freedom in HK? The Asian financial center is migrating to Singapore....
2
Most of the A321XLR fleet will be based out of PHL, due to NYC area flight traffic. These flights will target 2nd tier European cities like Manchester, Dublin, and Dubrovnik..... North Africa too, American is going to fight for these long and thin routes.

Build the FSA with upgauging capabilities to be the MMA.... Boeing SHOULD have never refreshed the 757 with new engines and aerodynamic enhancements. Bad decisions will haunt them. Airbus' bribery schemes with foreign governments are going to haunt them. Bombardier C-series (A220) is clearly trouncing Embraer/Boeing E2..... especially if a A220-500 materializes

This is what happens when you bounce on landing.... tires explode

Flew on a breast cancer awareness/pink ribbons Song 757 from Los Angeles to SLC? around 2005. It was okay. Nothing remotely memorable. I usually flew LGB to SLC on JetBlue....

Goodbye trijets

The stillborn Boeing 2-707 SST would have been ever better, faster than Concorde and twice the size.... but the US government stopped funding research and development because of the costs of the Vietnam war and the damage that the sonic booms caused.... sad.

I've flown on a United DC-10 and an American DC-10 a few times in the 80s on US transcontinental flights. Always a comfottable roomy airplane with a terrible public image.

Airbus bet on hub-to-hub flying, with the hub airports being slot-restricted. 21st century passengers want direct flights between city pairs, and skipping the gigantic chaotic hub airports all together. The popularity of private jet charters has wounded airlines as high priced first class suites end up going to frequent flyers, not millionaires. The A380 missed its window of opportunity by about 10 years. The wrong plane at the wrong time with limited airport infrastructure to handle its enormous size. Point-to-point airliners like the A321XLR or the 787... even the new A220-300 are much better suited to the post-Covid world

Agreed

First class on AA is really like business class on other global carriers. It's not a luxurious experience

We've been waiting 60 YEARS for an AMERICAN supersonic airliner. About damn time. And somewhere in the Great Beyond, President John F Kennedy is smiling..... 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Pilot suicide or hijacking.
