  1. I was told by a Hertz maintenance manager that CVT transmissions need fluid changes every 40,000 miles, or every 30,000 miles under severe service conditions. Recommended that the CVT fluids be changed at a dealership, and that you keep your service records in a safe place in case you need to claim it against any warranty.... Hyundai/Kia and Nissan especially.... despite the fact that these manufacturers say that the CVT transmission fluid is LIFETIME. Its a complete lie!

  2. We loved our 05 Matrix. Over 250000 miles and no major repairs but LOTS of preventive maintenance, like timing chains, frequent fluid changes and water pumps. Got totaled in a qreck 😢

  3. Jackie, go to the Kia dealer ASAP and get the CVT transmission fluid flushed and filled with new transmission fluid. Kia says that the fluid is lifetime, its NOT. It's not a cheap service ($250-300) but its way cheaper than replacing the entire CVT!
