Those of us who served, we know thing and have experienced things (good & bad) civilians can't understand. Being in the military is a lot like sex (you WILL get screwed at some point. :-)), you can read about it, talk to people about it, watch movies about it...but until you've experienced it...you don't have a clue. Its your 1st night in basic, you're in your bunk and thinking.."OMG What Have I Gone And Done!" Yet to meet a Vet who has not said those words or something similar. The main thing I got out of my 3 years 363 days 12 hours 42 minutes 18 seconds (but who's counting :-) is the ability to get along with and work with people I have absolutely nothing in common with. So YES It Was Worth It. BTW AIR FORCE! We're the smart ones...send the officers out to fight.
