  1.  @davidm5707  Based on what we know (which is actually quite a bit) it does appear our sun is something of a rarity. Most Stars are binary systems, or the wrong kind of star. Mayday next Tuesday someone will come up with observational evidence, that blows with out of the water...until then I'll maintain our Sun is rare.
