That's nice...I suppose. Of course it is Not Nuclear Powered, (which means limited range, unless you have a fleet of tankers, and limits the amount of weapons it can carry) and it would be Really better if the PRCN had actual aircraft that could fight off of it (They Don't).

If memory serves I 1st heard that in 1975.Now at some point they will be. But not anytime soon.

@AugustusOmega They very well may have 6th generation fighters. What they Don't have is Fighters (of Any generation) that can fly off/fight/And land on an aircraft carrier. At least not very often. Have you eve asked Why the Air Force & Naval version of the F-35 are different? Landing on a CV is a controlled CRASH, landing on a 10,000 foot runway Is NOT. That is just one difference. Yes Today the US Military has....issues. That can be changed fairly rapidly with a change of leadership.

@AugustusOmega Addendum: I recall being told about the supermen and superior weapons the USSR had. Turns out they were not. What they were, were pretty much 2 rate copies of what we had. Ever ask Why the IDF always won against The Arab nations? One reason The IDF bought Western weapons and the Arabs bought Soviet weapons.

@kelvin5005 Yes the PRC could invade and *take over Taiwan. The question is At What Cost? *I'm not so sure that is possible.
