  1. The Question is Not Can the PRC do this. Successfully, is another question entirely. The question is At..What..Cost (assuming it is successful)? A couple of points (in no particular order) 1. The last time the PLA went to War (I mean A eal War not an Artillery Dual) was 40+ years ago, it didn't wok out well for the PLA. 2. The PLA is a Conscript Army, Will the soldiers/sailors/airman bring their A Game? ie willing to Die for conquer Taiwan? 3. The PLA Army, Navy Air Force don't really talk to each other. 4. after 70+ years Do The Taiwanese consider themselves Chinese? from what I have read, the answer is No. That means they are fighting for their Homeland. Yes the PRC Could do it successfully....but at what cost? Both for the PRC/PLA and to the island of Taiwan, probably destroyed.
