That doesn't mean these are not good ideas.

@mc1993 Remember before the late 19th century there was no such thing a legal or illegal immigration. There was just immigration.

@dwreal1717 Google Search: Early American Immigration Policies "Americans encouraged relatively free and open immigration during the 18th and early 19th centuries, and rarely questioned that policy until the late 1800s. After certain states passed immigration laws following the Civil War, the Supreme Court in 1875 declared regulation of immigration a federal responsibility. Thus, as the number of immigrants rose in the 1880s and economic conditions in some areas worsened, Congress began to pass immigration legislation."

@Mayonnaisetdy Couple of reasons/thoughts/points 1. For some (lets call them Ever Trump) he criticized Donald Trump. Fairly or unfairly,, different question. For them the rule is Never criticize Donald Trump. 2. He is a Center/Right practical politician. Being seen is not a positive these days. 3. While I like him, and supported him in 2015/6 in 2023 his campaign is (pretty much) I Hate Trump. 4. Timing. 2012..2026 was his time. 2023..NO. He had his shot and its time to move on. (one mans opinion freely given and worth ALMOST that much)

@Mayonnaisetdy Being somethng of a Yellow Dog Republican (ie vote for a yellow dog if he's a Republican) I'll vote for whoever wins the nomination. As for the 91 indictments. THE question is did the Democrats bring these (politically) motivated charges to take Trump Out, OR To Help him win the nomination (because they think he's the easiest to beat)? Good arguments for both.
