A normal cop gets about an extra $30 per week if that. No fancy cars etc. You are thinking USA and movies. Learn how Mexico works, it's COMPLETELY different.

Silver or lead has only 2 options. They ALL work for the cartel that own the plaza where they work. No exceptions. If you say no, your colleagues wouldn't trust you and the cartel would kill you. Possibly using your colleagues to do so. I like Ed & I undestand his need for self preservation etc. Notice how he NEVER talks about the cartel where he worked, only their contras (who would have been the only narcos he went after; for the Arrianna Felix cartel. No one asks him these hard questions. It's as if its discussed before hand (probably for his own safety.) Ask that DEA guy you had on re kiki if you think I'm wrong. I Do understand his position but it's a dishonor to the cops that chose lead and are now dead. I bet he's not very populour in Mexico. They would laugh in his face. If I'm wrong, I'll apologise now, but I dont think I am. I can point you to people you could interview that could explain all this from both sides ( ex crime & ex law enforcement. Ex cartel are rare. To get out, you normally have to die.)

Ed should go into politics, the way he dances around the truth is truly impressive!

Ed's saving grace is that he is drawing attention to the plight of Mexico. Everyone there either dies, or is on the payroll. Lately they have worked for the highest bidder in each situation. Corruption all the way through. EVIL!!!

Great question Patrick. The ONLY person not working for someone was ED. that's why it's so ridiculous.

Great interview. I agree with Ed on everything he said except for there being a third choice in silver or lead. It's not, silver, lead or you're special so you can do whatever you like. ESPECIALY if you have family .

@alfalayer76 I agree with you. It's just the distortion of reality that bothers me. I'd do the same thing, but then I'd keep my head down & not miss inform people. Someone is gonna see that & think you can just say no to them. There's a kind of conspiracy of scilence around Mexico. As you know, it's a blood bath at the moment & nobody seems to care, especialy its government. It's a crime. Some honesty is needed. I blame the interviewers more than Ed. I dont blame him at all. Good luck to him. Hope your life is much better now & I'm sorry to hear about the hand you was dealt. Kind reguards to you

Happy Christmas & kings day to you

You have either knowingly or unknowingly conned. He lied to you throughout. EVERY cop gets a choice, silver or lead. Take bribe or get killed. Once your boss takes the bribe you know who you're working with. Anyone not on the same page dies. What he is saying is lies and impossible. They don't even use dna there, let alone lie detectors. It's ALL bull. He worked in TJ for their cartel. That's why he NEVER talks about them. Police are cartel errand boys. To all intent and purposes, he was a cartel member. God only knows what he's guilty of. Re interview him after doing your homework. Bet you he says no. Patrick, you've been had! I can point you to people who can prove it. It's not your fault. He's fooled many. Challenge him to doing a lie detector in front of you. Bet you he won't! He's probably killed more innocents than we've had hot dinners... who knows? He's FULL OF IT!!!

I love Ed for the attendees he's bringing to Mexico but some of it is dangerous. Making people think that it's safe to go to the police for help. The comondante takes three bribe from the local mafia. TJ was and is one of the most sought after plazas in Mexico. He takes the bribe, the alternative is certain death foe him and maybee even his family. The rest of the men then have to fall in line. Those that want to leave, die. Those who refuse die. The cartel pays for impunity (with some caviats). There's two chances, bribe or death. He days so himself. You can't opt out. Not possible. Do your homework Ive seem convoys worth police escort. This itts a country where guns ate illegal. There were technicals in that convoy. Everyone had guns. Virtually every office of government are corrupt. It's a big game of death where everything is corrupt but somehow works. It's al but a war there now. PLEASE look into this. I don't think many Mexicans could keep a straight face in Mexico if you asked them. Or would just be too scared to talk at all. Mexico isn't the US, or like anywhere else, for that matter.
