It’s not “ignored” it simply is dismissed as enlightening of one’s own wrong doings is not not worthy of praise. Next you will ask why we don’t acknowledge why enlightened people fought for the rights of children not to be physical assaulted by teachers. U want a cookie for doing the right and moral thing? You need to read the room. Gloating about doing the correct and moral thing is not righteous. Slavery was abolished not because of the enlightened but because the business was declining. You have to be naive if you think it was solely down to Mr willberforce and co. As cute as that story is, slavery was on the way out because of financial/business reasons. Don’t be ignorant and naive.

  14.  @solomonkane102 there’s no point gloating about building the modern world when 1, it was built of the labour of unethical behaviours and 2, British people are highly unhappy, overweight, lack purpose and are losing basic skills like being able to cook from scratch. Look in the mirror and have some humility. Your statement is not humble at all. You say it with your chest as if you were personally responsible for the hard work and luck of others. That success had nothing to do with you.
