I think his point is that in order to engage with a charity like yours, it’s essential to start with self reflection, stop victimizing oneself, and take action. For some, it takes looking within to truly develop compassion for ourselves. Without that reflection, we might never feel motivated to engage with something like your charity. To effectively participate in a charity or any cause, one needs self belief and hope. It’s about changing the way we think, recognising that we have the power to make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others. You can’t change your behaviour sustainably without changing your thoughts. Certain environments can change thoughts but generally speaking people find themselves in the same environments. A trip to the beach may give you hope for a day but it’s not gonna rewire your neural pathways. Compassion towards oneself is self serving. So is charity. Surely you work for a charity for your own needs and desires?

“dialed-down or dialed-up version of themselves” Isn’t that an oxymoron? How can someone be a “version” of themselves but still the same? The concept of being “dialed up” or “dialed down” while also being different versions seems contradictory. Additionally, what you’re suggesting is not entirely accurate when it comes to personality disorders. People with personality disorders, such as NPD, exhibit rigid and inflexible behaviors, making them more likely to present the same way across different environments. This lack of flexibility is why pervasiveness is a key criterion in diagnosing personality disorders. While some people might find certain environments like a job or friendship stress free and therefore not exhibit toxic responses, unhealthy narcissism tends to be rigid and inflexible. As a result, these traits usually manifest regardless of the context.

@TheAleksandros interested to know why you can’t just ignore the age and still apply the advice? That’s what I do. I got a board game that says “age 6-13”… doesn’t mean I can’t play it. Are you sure he is the one with limiting beliefs? He is also a business man and he is just marketing his work to appeal to the audience which is the most engaged and easily influenced. It’s not very easy to influence older generations.

No offence but he does it cos it works. He has a team of people who analyse the results from everything they do. Just cos it’s your 50th time here doesn’t mean he doesn’t get new viewers everyday
