  1. Coal is a dead horse industry, but greed keeps beating it back alive. We should be funding job programs for coal miners to find other work, either in other mining, or in jobs their local communities need. China and India need to be cajoled into dropping dirty coal, at least for cleaner (and cheaper) natural gas (conversion of coal plants to gas fired has been done for a long while.)

  2.  @matheesha.amaraseakara  his ideas led to it, but he wasn’t involved beyond a letter he signed with other scientists warning that Germany was looking to build their own nuke.

  3. Cooling towers are not limited to nuclear power plants (and not all nuclear plants have them (see the now shut down Indian Point in NY.))
