  1. Tsar Bomba was actually designed to be twice as powerful, but the Soviets were worried it was too big for the bomber crew that dropped it to escape, so they only put a half-powered core in it. The bomber barely got away from it.

  2.  @t.oblivion  they did test theirs though. Try going to Nova Zemlya. They tested 265 megatons of nukes there. Every explosion in WW2, including Hiroshima and Nagasaki, amounted to just 2 megatons!
