Ukraine President had a point, they asked to join NATO 8 years ago… and NATO has been stringing them along for 8 years… obviously because of what Russia has been doing to Ukraine (Crimea takeover, “rebels” in Donbas, other destabilizing actions like the current border build-up) NATO can’t just accept them because there’s a significant risk of conflict with Russia. Russia is not willing to let Ukraine leave their sphere of influence for “the west”, but Russia doesn’t seem to realize that Ukraine has a long memory of the USSR and wants to move on… Russia is like a toxic ex-significant other that has now become violent “If I can’t have you, nobody can have you!”
