Visited in 2014, August is a great time to go as it’s cheaper to visit, the weather is cool but not cold (though it may rain) and many places are not empty, but not stuffed to the gills with people. Of course the flight down from LAX and back is just too long, but it’s cool to see the sun set and then rise again on the return flight (and then set again as we flew back to New York on our connecting flight… quirks of traveling eastwards, two sunsets on the same day.
