There’s also a defeatist mentality in Russia, we keep saying “Why don’t the people do something to stop Putin?” Because of decades of the USSR and the state police and the fear of “if I speak up bad things will happen to me and my family”, all older people are trained to just go, “this stinks… but we can’t change anything, so let’s not even talk about it.”
