NJ transit is a separate thing from the MTA, and won’t be getting any money from congestion pricing (and I think that’s why they are fighting it.)

@ The 2nd avenue subway is being overbuilt and under built at the same time: unnecessarily deep stations, with a full mezzanine that makes little sense and only 2 tracks, which reduces the number of trains per hour significantly.

@ the federal department of transportation has some oversight and they do offer grants (especially matching grants) for certain projects deemed essential to the city or region involved.

The MTA actually has a list of stuff ready to start working on once the tax is running, because they can get a $15 billion bond to pay for everything ($7 billion is for the 2nd phase of the 2nd ave subway)

This is New York, why are you driving? I say expand the zone to cover the whole city. Or bring back the old commuter tax.
