Battery electric cars aren’t new, many of the first cars sold ran completely on lead-acid battery packs. Look up Baker Electric... Jay Leno owns 2 of them I believe... it looks like a big glass booth on wheels.

@godfather7339 right, but oil isn’t forever. Too many people don’t realize that, we need to invest in the future of energy now, not when the taps run dry.

@hifiteen49 Copenhagen also was crazy with bicycles when we visited a few years ago. Outside of the Norreport station there were at least a thousand parked bikes... And we wondered how anyone could find theirs if they forgot where they parked.

@btccricket14 my daily commuting vehicle is the NYC subway, at least it was until my office went mostly remote. (I do not miss my commute at all.)

@godfather7339 Many have ideas to cover the Sahara with solar panels... though moving the electricity out of there is where it gets complicated. reneweconomy.com.au/solar-panels-all-over-the-sahara-desert-18011/

Someone needs to figure out how to market an electric car when you can pull into station, have the almost dead battery pack pulled out of the car, and a freshly charged battery pack swapped in in less than 5 minutes.
